Successful graduates of this course are eligible for CEF reimbursement of 80% of tuition fee subject to a maximum of HK$10,000.
(Students must meet the attendance rate of 80% or above and satisfy the academic requirements prescribed by the faculty in order to be awarded the Diploma of Graduation. Outstanding graduates can be offered assistance in job placement in HKFA affiliated production companies.)
The course is designed for those who aim to work in the film and TV industries as assistants or technical personnel. It covers basic skills & techniques in all aspects of filmmaking from Storyboard to Post-production, including Shots Breakdown, Camera Movements, Lighting for Studio & Location, Operation of ARRIFLEX 35mm, BETACAM, HDV & HD Camers etc.

4. Actualization: From Script to Shooting.
5. Mood Creation and Rhythm.
6. Camera Movements and Composition of Shots
7. Filmic Time and Reality Time.
8. Lighting Set-ups: Studio and Location.
9. Color and Contrast in Lighting.
10. Montage Theory.
11. Aesthetics of Long-Take and Deep Focus.
12. Creative use of Audio: Relationship between Visual and Audio.
13. Mise-en-scene and Film Styles.
14. Film Appreciation and Criticism: Semiotics, Structuralism and Psychoanalysis.
15. Production Planning and Budgeting.
